Axis Atlas
Axis · Travel · Visa Infinite
India's best dedicated travel rewards card — 5% on travel, airline mile transfers, 18 lounges.
Axis Atlas is built from the ground up for travelers. 5% on travel bookings, transferable EDGE Miles to 6 airline partners (including Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways), and 18 lounge visits make it the most complete travel card available in India.
The 2% base rate on non-travel spending is strong enough that Atlas works as a primary card, not just a travel card. The ₹5,000 annual fee is waivable at ₹10L spend, and the value from airline transfers alone can far exceed this. The main downside is the ~3.5% forex markup — no zero forex means international transactions are penalized.
Frequent travelers who value airline miles and premium cabin redemptions. If you fly 4+ times a year and are willing to learn the miles game, Atlas delivers exceptional value.
You rarely travel or only care about cashback. The miles system requires effort to maximize. For simple cashback, Axis ACE or HDFC Millennia are easier choices.

How do EDGE Miles transfers work?+
Accumulate EDGE Miles from spending, then transfer to partner airlines (Air India, Singapore Airlines, etc.) through the Axis EDGE Rewards portal. Transfer ratios vary by partner — typically 1:1 but check current rates.
Is Atlas better than HDFC Regalia for travel?+
Different strengths. Atlas gives 5% on travel + airline transfers. Regalia gives up to 13% via SmartBuy but only through HDFC's portal. If you want flexibility in booking platforms, Atlas wins. If you're happy using SmartBuy, Regalia's rate is higher.
Does Atlas have zero forex markup?+
No. Axis Atlas charges ~3.5% forex markup on international transactions. The 2% base rewards partially offset this, but you're still paying ~1.5% net on international spends.
