Amazon Pay ICICI
ICICI · Cashback · Visa
If you shop on Amazon, this card is mandatory. Lifetime free, 5% with no cap, instant approval.
Amazon Pay ICICI is the easiest recommendation in Indian credit cards. It's lifetime free, gives 5% on Amazon for Prime members (3% without Prime), and has no monthly cashback cap. If you spend even ₹5,000/month on Amazon, that's ₹250/month or ₹3,000/year in rewards — from a free card.
The catch is that rewards are credited as Amazon Pay balance, not real cashback. You can use Amazon Pay at many merchants (offline and online), but you can't transfer it to your bank account. For most Amazon shoppers, this is a non-issue since you'll spend it on Amazon anyway.
Anyone who shops on Amazon regularly. Even ₹3,000/month Amazon spend earns ₹1,800/year from a card that costs nothing. It's essentially free money with zero effort.
You don't shop on Amazon, or you want real cashback (not Amazon Pay balance). Also not great as a primary card — 1% on non-Amazon is below average.

Key Benefits
✅ Best Used For
5% with no monthly cap is the highest uncapped reward rate on any single-merchant card. No other card beats this for Amazon.
2% on Amazon Pay partner merchants — restaurants, fuel, groceries that accept Amazon Pay. Decent secondary rate.
Instant approval for Amazon customers, lifetime free, no complex reward structure. Perfect starter card that builds credit history.
⚠️ Switch to Another Card For
1% on Flipkart. Axis Flipkart card gives 5% on Flipkart. If you use both platforms, you need both cards.
1% on everything non-Amazon. Axis ACE's 1.5% uncapped is better for general offline spending.
Rewards are Amazon Pay balance, not statement credit. If you want money in your bank account, SBI Cashback is a better choice.

Do I need Amazon Prime to get 5%?+
No. Without Prime you get 3% on Amazon. With Prime (₹1,499/year) you get 5%. If you spend ₹3,000+/month on Amazon, Prime pays for itself through the extra 2%.
Can I convert Amazon Pay balance to cash?+
Not directly. Amazon Pay balance can be used on Amazon and at Amazon Pay partner merchants (many restaurants, fuel stations, grocery stores). But you can't transfer it to a bank account.
Is there a cashback cap?+
No. This is one of the few cards with no monthly or annual cashback cap. Spend ₹1 lakh on Amazon and get ₹5,000 back (with Prime).
Amazon Pay ICICI vs HDFC Millennia for Amazon?+
For Amazon specifically, the Amazon Pay ICICI card wins — 5% with no cap vs Millennia's 5% with a ₹1,000/month shared cap. But Millennia covers more platforms (Swiggy, Flipkart, Myntra).
