A free card that lost its main perk — lounge access was discontinued. Little reason to choose it now.
IndusInd Legend was once attractive for its free lounge access and weekend double points. But with lounge access discontinued in March 2025, the card's main differentiator is gone. What remains is a 0.25% base rate (0.5% on weekends) and a ₹5L milestone bonus — neither of which justify choosing this over better free alternatives.
The milestone bonus of 10,000 points (₹2,500) at ₹5L annual spend is nice, but IDFC FIRST Select gives lounge access, zero forex, AND a birthday bonus — all for free. IndusInd Legend is now a card for existing holders, not new applicants.
Existing IndusInd customers who already have the card and benefit from the ₹5L milestone bonus. Not recommended for new applicants.
You're applying for a new card. IDFC FIRST Select, Amazon Pay ICICI, or AU LIT are all better free options in 2026.

0.5% on weekends is double the weekday rate. If you time large purchases for weekends, the effective rate improves slightly.
If you naturally spend ₹5L/year, the 10,000 point bonus (₹2,500) is a nice annual reward on top of regular points.
⚠️ Switch to Another Card For
0.25% base with no lounge access. Almost every free card on the market is better in 2026.
0.25% is negligible. HDFC Millennia gives 20x more at 5%.

Will lounge access come back?+
No official announcement. IndusInd discontinued lounge access in March 2025 across several cards. Don't count on it returning.
Is the ₹5L milestone bonus automatic?+
Points are credited after you cross ₹5L in annual spend. This is cumulative — all spending counts, not just specific categories.
Should I close this card?+
If it's your oldest credit card, keep it open for credit history length. If you have older cards, there's little reason to keep Legend active.
